Kupwara, Dec 8, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra(VBSY) on Friday reached Hayhama and Handwara blocks of Kupwara district.

Far flung Panchayats Manigah A, Manigah B, Manigah C, Batpora A, Batpora B, Batpora C, Batpora D, Babapora, Chalgund, Gonipora, Gundisana, Gutlipora,Jugtyal, Hummander, Kashirah, Manzhar, Payerpora and Qasba Hayhama of Block Hayhama and Maidan chogal (I),Maidan Chogal (ii), Shahlal, Wadipora-A, Wadipora-B, of Block Handwara Were covered under VBSY today.

At Panchayat Halqa Chalgund, BDO Hayhama, Nazir Ahmad Nazir administered the viksit pledge to the participants.

The VBSY- IEC vans reached far flung villages where a large number of locals welcomed the van and listened to video speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other messages. IEC vans are helping empowerment of people through the dissemination and delivery of people-centric services.

During the programme, People were made aware about centrally sponsored schemes and were asked to avail benefits of these schemes. People also highlighted various problems and demands which were taken note of by the concerned officials.

Pertinently, in frontier Kupwara district , the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is proving to be a one-stop solution for beneficiaries who are getting themselves enrolled for different welfare Schemes.

Under ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ beneficiaries of Centrally Sponsored schemes shared their experiences about the benefits they availed after enrolling themselves under these schemes.
Beneficiaries urged others to come forward and reap the benefits of welfare schemes.
Resource Persons of different departments also generated awareness regarding public welfare schemes.

The line departments also raised awareness on public welfare schemes through display of products in stalls at the venues of VBSY. Students and local artists took part in skits and other cultural events.
Women and other achievers were also felicitated for their exemplary work in respective fields during the programme.
Local participants also availed health services including screening for various ailments at health camps conducted at the mega event.

Through VBSY, government is reaching out to the people at their doorsteps . Beneficiaries who are saturated with schemes like PM Awas Yojna and PM Ujjwala Yojna are enthusiastic and exploring other welfare schemes through this massive campaign. As the campaign of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is moving ahead day by day it is instilling strong belief among people about good governance.
