Jhelum Stadium Janbazpora Baramulla to be named as ‘General Bipin Rawat Stadium’

Srinagar, Dec 08 : Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday accorded sanction to rename Jhelum Stadium Janbazpora in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after former Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the sanction has been accorded to name Jhelum Stadium, Janbazpora as “General Bipin Rawat Stadium”.

“The Youth Services and Sports Department and Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla shall take immediate necessary steps including amending their records for effecting the change,” reads the order.

It added that it is further ordered that Divisional Commissioner Kashmir shall ensure that an appropriate event is organized in connection with naming of the stadium—(KNO)
