Karnah, 3 Dec: In a proactive move to safeguard uninterrupted power supply during the winter season, the Power Development Department (PDD) Karnah initiated a major crackdown on electricity misuse. Under the directives of Assistant Executive Engineer Sub Division Karnah, Hamid Ahmad, a dedicated team conducted door-to-door raids in Karnah villages, seizing numerous illegal power appliances, including heaters and boilers.
Officials from the Power Development Department revealed to Our correspondent that special teams from Tangdar executed a series of raids in the Teetwal Block. The seized electric heaters and boilers were identified as contributors to excessive power load, leading to unscheduled power cuts and safeguarding transformers.
Hamid Ahmad, a PDD officer, emphasized that consumers had been repeatedly advised to use electricity in accordance with their agreements. However, the winter season witnesses an upsurge in the use of various electric devices, particularly boilers and heaters, placing additional strain on transformers.
In an exclusive statement to our correspondent explained the rationale behind seizing these electric devices, highlighting the department’s commitment to providing electricity as per schedule. He affirmed that the inspection and crackdown would persist in the coming days across other areas.
