AGH terrorist Associate Arrested, Arms & Ammo Recovered in Shopian: Police

Srinagar, Nov 26 : A terrorists associate belonging to Ansar Guzwatul Hind (AGH) oufit was arrested in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, J&K Police said on Sunday.

In a handout to the police said that on 26th November, Police along with Army (44 RR) & CRPF (14th Bn) at a checkpoint established at Habdipora Shopian Crossing, intercepted a suspected person who was coming from Kundalan towards Shopian. He has been identified as Farman Khursheed Wani son of Khursheed Ahmad Wani resident of Gagren Shopian.

The spokesman further stated that during search, incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 Pistol, 02 Pistol Magazines, 10 rounds of 9mm Caliber and a Mobile Phone were recovered from his possession.

“During preliminary questioning, the arrested terrorists associate disclosed that he is working as an associate of banned outfit AGH and was supposed to carry out attacks on security forces in the district”, reads the statement.

“Regarding the incident, a case vide FIR No.194/23 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Shopian and investigation of the case has been initiated”,reads the statement further. (GNS)
