Enforcement teams launch major crackdown on illegal mining in Doda

DODA, NOVEMBER 16: In a major crackdown, Geology and Mining Department and police seized huge stashes of illegally mined minor minerals and heavy machines from 2 separate locations in District Doda.

District Mineral Officer (DMO), under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, conducted the raids with police and seized a heavy excavator involved in illegal mining in the Malik Pura area of Sub-division Gandoh. The operation, conducted in the presence of the Naib Tehsildar and the police party, signifies a decisive step against unauthorized mining activities.

In another concerted effort, a joint operation led by District Mineral Officer Sunil Kumar Manhas and the police department resulted in the seizure of a JCB and 100 M.T of illegally crushed material at Diamond Stone Crusher in Tehsil Kahara. The operation, executed in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, reflected the commitment of the District Administration to enforce regulations outlined in the Mineral Act to curb the detrimental impact of unauthorized mining practices.

The entire seizure operation was meticulously executed, demonstrating adherence to the laws outlined in the Mineral Act. This decisive action against illegal mining not only safeguards the region’s natural resources but also stands as a significant stride in upholding the rule of law.
