SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 13: Various activities under ‘Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme were today held at district Shopian to create awareness regarding the electoral process and to convey voter awareness messages.

The team of election employees under the supervision of Deputy District Election Officer, Shopian, Jahangir Ahmed visited ITI Shopian and Cricket Stadium Shopian, where they interacted with the young players of the district and spread a mass awareness about the voter registration and participation.

The team provided wide information about how to register a new voter through online mode by using Voter Helpline app and www.voterseci.in.

All the scheduled dates of camp days were shared with the youth and were informed to contact their Booth Level Officer for further assistance and registration.

The District Youth Icon, Summaya Jan was also present in the event who shared her experience among the players and threw light on the importance of vote in Indian democracy.

During the event the Captains of the teams were provided all kinds of forms like Form 6 (for inclusion of name) Form 7(Deletion of name) and Form 8 (Correction of particulars) in the voter list, and were informed to provide their full cooperation and assistance for spreading the SSR message among the young players so that maximum voter registration could be possible.

In order to make the programme more attractive and attentive, a Cricket Match and a Badminton Match was organised.

The participants included a large gathering of local people, teachers and Young players who showed their full support and cooperation and made the programme successful.

Subsequently, all the participating students were asked to take a pledge to cast their votes in the upcoming Elections.

Election NT and Booth level Officers were also present during the programme and shared their experiences among the participants.

The participants were also informed about the schedule issued by the Chief Election Officer J&K which commenced from 27th October to 9th of December 2023.
