SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 11: As part of calendar of activities issued by J&K Legal Services Authority Srinagar, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar today celebrated National Education Day in collaboration with the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, (GGHSS) Chanpora Srinagar by organizing an awareness program at the school.

This event marks a significant milestone in the promotion of education, and also aligns with the ethos of the National Educational Policy, recognizing the fundamental right of every child to receive quality education.

In a bid to fortify the commitment to education, DLSA Srinagar has joined hands with Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Chanpora, Srinagar to amplify the impact of educational initiatives and foster an environment where learning is not just a right but a celebrated privilege.

At the heart of this collaboration is the recognition that education is not just a privilege but a fundamental right. The right of every child to receive quality education is enshrined in the constitution, and initiatives like these reaffirm the commitment to making education accessible to all.

National Education Day, observed annually on November 11th, commemorates the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of independent India. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the crucial role education plays in the holistic development of individuals and the nation as a whole

The awareness programme commenced with the address by resource persons of DLSA Srinagar, Adv. Syed Shabana and Adv .Suhaila Ali (Panel Lawyers) highlighting Provisions of Right to Education Amendment Act 2002 inserted Article 21-A in the Constitution of India to provide free and compulsory education of all Children in the age group of six to fourteen years as a Fundamental Right.

The speakers also highlighted the recently implemented National Education Policy (NEP), which envisions a transformative and holistic approach to education. The NEP underscores the importance of an inclusive, flexible, and multidisciplinary education system that empowers students to become well-rounded, creative, and critical thinkers.

The Program was attended by the Staff members and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA, Srinagar, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the School and students.
