BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 10: The second round of ongoing phase fifth of Back to Village (B2V-5) programme commenced today in 51 Gram Panchayats of Bandipora district with great fervor.

On the occasion, the Visiting Officers (VOs) received first hand information from the PRIs and people regarding developmental works and prepared proposals for Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) as per the local needs.

In addition to participation in Gram Sabhas, Visiting Officers visited JJM besides Amrit sarovar sites. They also participated in Plantation drives. Cleanliness drives were also held on the occasion in various panchayat halqas.

Moreover, awareness was disseminated to the people regarding individual beneficiary oriented schemes, besides, other developmental and welfare measures.

Secretary, SDA Kashmir, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Bhat visited panchayat halqa Dawar-B wherein he took stock of the works being executed during current financial year. He also visited schools within the panchayat halqa to take stock of the facilities available and inspected mid day meal being served to the children.

SDM Sumbal, Aamir Choudhary also visited various Gram Panchayats wherein he interacted with PRIs, youth and the public and listened their day to day developmental issues. He also took stock of the ongoing developmental works in the area.

SDM Gurez Mukhtar Ahmad while visiting different panchayats expressed satisfaction over the large scale public participation in the programmes across the subdivision and said that the B2V5 exercise provides a strong database for sustainable development.

During the B2V-5 programme, Visiting Officers interacted with the members of Gram Sabhas. Discussion on GPDP formulation, distribution of land passbooks, inspection of public offices and inspection of works taken up under various CSS, B2V and other schemes, inspection of Amrit Sarovar projects, awareness on Self Employment scheme, feedback on welfare schemes were some of the activities in vogue in various Panchayats of the district.

The Visiting Officers documented all the grievances projected by the people during the first day of the second phase.

The frontline workers of different departments present on the occasion replied to the queries raised by the public pertaining to their sectors.
