The Social Welfare Department in Sopore in the North Kashmir’s Baramulla district successfully conducted a free medical checkup for the elderly on Tuesday.
The event took place at Watlab Panchayat Ghar, where medical professionals from SDH Sopore provided comprehensive checkups for the elderly individuals in attendance.
Approximately 45 elderly individuals participated in the medical checkup, which not only offered thorough examinations but also provided them with valuable health tips for the upcoming winter season.
Furthermore, cultural programs, including Baand Pather, were organized during the event to bring moments of happiness and entertainment to the elderly attendees.
The Baand Pather performers expressed their gratitude towards the Social Welfare Department for providing them a platform to showcase their talent and earn a modest income at this stage in their lives.
Speaking to the media, TSWO Fayaz Ahmad Lone highlighted the increasing digitalization that often distances us from our elderly population. He emphasized that events such as these enable us to spend quality time with our elders and help them feel valued and integrated within our society.
