3-Day Archery Championship kickstarts in Jammu

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 05: The opening ceremony of the 3-day long J&K UT Archery championship was held today at Greenfields Ground Gandhinagar Jammu.

The event is being organized by the Archery Association of J&K under the aegis of J&K Sports Council.

The chief guest on the occasion was SP South district Jammu, Shaheen Wahid while KD Bhagat Dy. SP and Rajeev Sharma Member J&K Sports Council were the guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the efforts of J&K Sports Council and the Archery Association of J&K for organizing such a wonderful event for providing opportunities to the youth of J&K at a time especially when two para-archers of J&K have brought laurels to the country and the union territory by bagging medals at the bigger stage.

Around one hundred and fifty archers from all over districts of J&K, J&K Police and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra are participating in the event,

The championship is being conducted in recurve, compound, and Indian rounds in different age categories including U-9, Sub Junior, Youth and Senior groups.
