REASI, NOVEMBER 03: To commemorate the Legal Service Day by Legal Service Institutions on November 9, 2023, the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Service Authority on Friday deputed a mobile van for enhancing the legal literacy as well as spreading awareness among the people at large about various Legal Aid Schemes/Welfare Schemes.
The mobile van reached Katra at 11.00 am and proceeded straight way to Middle School Karwa Nau Devi, where local people of village Karwa had gathered. Under the guidance of Member Secretary SLSA Amit Gupta, Chairperson DLSA Reasi Sonia Gupta and under the supervision of Secretary DLSA, Sunil Kumar, the PLVs Sanjay Dogra, Ajay Kumar, Balbir Lal, Shanker Singh (Lamberdar) & Sr. Assistant, Ashwani Kumar apprised the people about various Legal Aid Schemes and their benefits.
Thereafter, the mobile van reached Katra Bus stand, where people of vicinity had gathered.
The people present there were apprised about the Legal Aid Schemes. DLSA Secretary Sunil Kumar, Munsiff Katra Lakshay Badyal, SHO Katra Nishant Gupta and Advocate Sunil Kumar were also present on the occasion.
Officers present also apprised the people about the Legal Aid Schemes/Welfare Programmes run by National Legal Services Authority through Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority Reasi.

Vigilance Awareness Week: SSP presides over Workshop at Kishtwar
KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 03: Vigilance Awareness Week celebration in District Kishtwar gained significant momentum with a workshop held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, key government officials and other stakeholders.
SSP, Khalil Ahmed Poswal, was the chief guest on this occasion.
Among the notable attendees were ADDC Kishtwar, Sham Lal; ADC Inderjeet Singh Parihar; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; PO ICDS, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma;Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Zakir Hussain Wani; ACD, Manoj Kumar; Tehsildar HQ, Chander Shekhar Sharma; EO Municipal Council Kishtwar, Ninad Sen; Nodal officer Ayush, Dr. Vikram Singh; CEO, DYSSO; DyCEO besides others.
During the workshop, The SSP delivered an insightful lecture on the prevention of corruption. He shed light on the evolution of different sections of the law, criminal misconducts, and the Amendment Act of 1988 and 2018. He emphasized the multifaceted approach the government employs should adopt to combat corruption, highlighting the importance of awareness and public engagement in this ongoing battle.
The SSP passionately called for a united front against corruption, terming it as a silent termite eroding the foundations of our nation. His resounding message was clear: the public and the government must join forces to purge the nation of this scourge, emphasizing that eradicating corruption is a collective responsibility.
The SSP Kishtwar eloquently expressed that Vigilance Awareness Week serves as a crucial platform to raise public consciousness about the dangers of corruption and to encourage all stakeholders to actively participate in preventing bribery. He reiterated that corruption is a significant roadblock to development and called for collective action to eliminate it.
Meanwhile, ADDC Kishtwar also spoke on the occasion and stressed the importance of strict adherence to transparency and accountability. He urged concerned officers to take the initiative to educate employees and the public about the dire consequences of corruption through workshops and mass campaigns. The event served as a reminder of the commitment of the government and the community to maintain a corruption-free and transparent society, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
