Rashtriya Ekta Divas-2023: Distt Admin Kulgam, YS&S Deptt organise ‘Run for Unity’

KULGAM, OCTOBER 31: To foster and reinforce dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of the nation, a ‘Run for Unity’ was today organised by District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with Department of Youth Services & Sports Kulgam under the banner of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas-2023’ and ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’.

The run was flagged-off by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat from Sports Stadium Kulgam and culminated at Chawalgam Crossing.

More than 500 Boys and Girls from various schools participated in the unity run.

The participants through this activity raised awareness among the general public regarding the redemption of Youth from Drug Addiction/ Smoking and the exemption of society from corruption.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of the Day and said that this day we remember the endeavours of freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who contributed towards the unification of the nation. He urged people to work for the peace and progress of the society.

ADC, Viqar Ahmed Giri; ACR, Mir Imtiyaz-ul-Aziz and other officers were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile under the banner of Rastriya Ekta Diwas, Ekta Pledges ceremonies were held in offices across the district.
