Dogs have dug up different portions of Srinagar’s Joggers Park thus disfiguring its beauty.

The morning walkers and other visitors have castigated the Floriculture Department for failing to maintain the upkeep of this beautiful park where hundreds of people visit and relax on a daily basis.

The park is located in Srinagar’s posh area of Raj Bagh.

A couple of visitors told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that dogs can be seen digging up the park almost every day.

“There is a watchman in the park who resides in the quarter there. We are shocked over his inaction,” said one of the locals.

Dogs often dig in an effort to catch burrowing animals or insects that live in the ground. “I have been trying to vacate these dogs from the park but an influential lady who feeds these canines has threatened me with consequences. I have even apprised the higher-ups about the situation,” the watchman of the park told KNT.

Some of the visitors even claimed that the lavatory facility created by the Department for the visitors remains shut.

Efforts to contact the Director Floriculture didn’t materialize.
