ACD flags off Amrit Kalash Yatra from Poonch to Delhi

POONCH, OCTOBER 26: Assistant Commissioner Development, Abid Hussain Shah today flagged off the Amrit Kalash Yatra from Poonch to Delhi here from the premises of the DC Office.

The Kalash is being carried by the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra ( NYK) Poonch.

All the blocks of district Poonch contributed to fill the Kalash for the main event in New Delhi

Tehsildar headquarters Jhangir Hussain, BDO Poonch, Chetan Sharma, Programme Coordinator NYK, Mohammad Shafiq, Physical Education Master, Vijay Kumar beside volunteers of NYK were present on the event.

The yatra, scheduled from 23rd to 31st October 2023, is being organized under the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign aimed to pay tributes to the Veer soldiers of the nation.

The Amrit Kalash Yatra holds immense significance as it symbolizes the deep-rooted connection between the Maati and Mera Desh. This yatra aims to promote patriotic fervor and strengthen the bond between the people and their homeland. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers in defending the sovereignty and integrity of our nation.

Speaking at the event, ACD Abid Hussain Shah highlighted the importance of Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign and emphasized the need to honor and respect our land and its defenders. He stated, “Meri Maati Mera Desh is not just a slogan but a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards our motherland. It reminds us that our land nurtures us, and it is our duty to protect and preserve it.”
