Power Shortages in Jammu and Kashmir Cause Inconvenience to Residents

Power shortages have led to frequent unscheduled power cuts, causing inconvenience to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement, Vivek Bali highlighted the serious consequences of these power cuts and urged the government to promptly procure additional power quotas to ameliorate the situation. He emphasized the need for all necessary steps to be taken to address the prevailing severe power crisis, which is attributed to low power generation from local hydroelectric projects due to reduced water discharge in rivers.

Reduced Water Discharge in Rivers Affects Local Hydroelectric Projects

The dry weather conditions prevailing for several months in Jammu and Kashmir should have prompted advance planning from the authorities to prevent the current power crisis, according to Vivek Bali. He expressed his disappointment in seeing a region with rich power generation potential grappling with such a crisis, stating that Jammu and Kashmir should have been self-reliant and power surplus.

Vivek Bali Calls for Collaborative Efforts to Ensure Uninterrupted Power Supply

With the approaching winter season, Vivek Bali urged the government to proactively tackle power challenges and ensure that the people of Jammu and Kashmir do not suffer from power shortages, especially during harsh winters. He called for collaborative efforts from the government bodies and several owners to resolve the power crisis and ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply for the region.

The current power crisis in Jammu and Kashmir contradicts the government’s assurance of round-the-clock power supply, particularly in metered areas. The hardships faced by the people necessitate immediate action to improve the power scenario and fulfill the commitment of uninterrupted power supply.

Furthermore, Vivek Bali has urged the government to take immediate action to address the severe power crisis in Jammu and Kashmir. With collaborative efforts and proactive measures, it is crucial to ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply, especially before the onset of the winter season, when power challenges are expected to decline.
