उत्तर रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक, श्री शोभन चौधुरी ने उत्तर रेलवे के विभागाध्यक्षों और मण्डल रेल प्रबंधकों के साथ, आज प्रधान कार्यालय, बड़ौदा हाउस, नई दिल्ली में उत्तर रेलवे की कार्य प्रगति की समीक्षा की । महाप्रबंधक ने कहा कि संरक्षा रेलवे की प्राथमिकता है जिसके लिए रेलपथों, चलस्टॉक, सिगनल और विद्युत की ओवरहैड तारों का अनुरक्षण प्राथमिकता के आधार पर करने के हर-संभव प्रयास किये जाने चाहिए ।
उन्होंने रेलपथों और वैल्डों के अनुरक्षण मानकों को बेहतर बनाने, सिगनल प्रणाली के सुचारू रूप से काम करने और अन्य संरक्षा इंतजामों को बेहतर बनाने पर बल दिया । उन्होंने रेलपथों के निकट पड़े स्क्रैप को तेजी से हटाने और रेलपथों पर रात्रिकालीन गश्त बढ़ाने, पटरियों के सिरों पर लगे फिश बोल्ट छेदों के निरीक्षण करने और संभावित रेल दरारों की जगहों की पहचान करने और किसी भी अप्रिय घटना को टालने के लिए निवारक उपाय करने के लिए अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए ।
उन्होंने आगे कहा कि मण्डलों को संरक्षा बढ़ाते हुए जहां भी आवश्यक है वहां कर्मचारियों को परामर्श दिया जाना चाहिए । उन्होंने रेलपथों पर विद्युत संरक्षा पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने के साथ-साथ रेलगाड़ियों के निर्बाध आवागमन के लिए रिले और पैनल रूमों की संरक्षा पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने पर बल दिया । उन्होंने रेल परिचालन में मानवीय भूलों को कम करने पर जोर दिया । उन्होंने विभागाध्यक्षों और मण्डल रेल प्रबंधकों को संरक्षा को प्राथमिकता देते हुए माल लदान की रफ्तार को बढ़ाने और समयपालनबद्धता को बनाए रखने के भी निर्देश दिए ।
मालभाड़ा बिजनेस डेवलपमेंट पर बात करते हुए महाप्रबंधक ने व्यापार यूनिटों के बढ़े हुए दायरों का जायज़ा लिया । उन्होंने कहा कि बीडीयू को ग्राहकों के बीच भरोसे, सहयोग और आत्मविश्वास का माहौल बनाना चाहिए । उन्होंने कहा कि रेलवे द्वारा दी जा रही रियायतें ग्राहकों तक पहुँचनी चाहिए । उन्होंने बताया कि प्रत्येक गुजरते माह के साथ खाद्यान्न एवं अन्य मदों के लदान में वृद्धि हुई है ।

GENERAL MANAGER REVIEWS PERFORMANCE OF NORTHERN RAILWAY

Sh. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway held a performance review meeting with the departmental heads of Northern Railway & DRMs. The GM emphasized that Safety is the main concern over Railways, for which all out efforts should be directed towards maintaining the tracks, rolling stock, signaling and electric overhead wires are working in top order.
He reviewed the work done over the zone in improving the maintenance standard of tracks, proper functioning of signal system and other safety arrangements during upcoming fog season. He instructed officials for speedy removal of scrap lying near the tracks and increase of night patrolling of railway tracks,visual examination of rail ends fish bolt holes, and identify rail fracture prone locations and take necessary preventive measures to keep watch on any untoward incidents.
He further said that the divisions should enhance the safety and counsel the staff whenever necessary and required. He also emphasized on focusing on electrical safety on tracks as well as safety in relay and panel rooms for error free movement of trains. He stressed upon the minimizing the human failure in train operation. He also instructed the department heads and DRMs, to maintain the punctuality and keep pace for freight loading with safety as priority.
Taking on freight Business Development, the GM took stock of the outreach of the Business Development Units. He also instructed that BDUs should create an environment of trust, support and confidence amongst the customers. He added that the initiatives and concessions offered by the Railways should reach the clients. He also informed that, loading of food grains & other items have steadily increased with every passing month.
