30 Specially-abled candidates undergo skill training at Shopian

SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 09: Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Shopian of J&K Bank commenced a one month on-site training programme to 30 specially-abled persons of Zainapora Shopian. The programme is funded by NABARD under its Skill Development Scheme.

The training programme was inaugurated by Rouf Zargar, DDM NABARD in presence of LDM Farooq Ahmad and Director RSETI Nazir Ahmad. Besides the officers from KVIB, Social Welfare were also present.

Inaugurating the programme, DDM NABARD Rouf Zargar informed that NABARD has sanctioned various Skill Development Programmes to professional skill agencies across the UT and provides financial assistance towards the conduct of such courses.

Giving details about the programme, he said that 30 youth which also include female candidates will undergo training on tailoring to motivate them to embrace the path of self-employment. Training will be provided by expert trainers of RSETI through theory classes and practicals.

Director RSETI, Farooq Ahmad complimented NABARD for sanctioning the programme and urged the candidates to take away the learnings for gainful employment. He assured the candidates for all the support during the course.

LDM Farooq Ahmad told the participants to not let the disability come their way of livelihood.
