Srinagar: 07/10/2023: ZFI conducted a vibrant group discussion with civil society members of Kashmir to empower the deprived in a valuable strategy to achieve goals, foster collaboration, and generate creative ideas. The meeting was held at Hotel Ahdoos Srinagar and was presided over by Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood, President ZFI, former OSD to Prime Minister of India. The meeting was attended by Kifayat Hussain Razvi, IAS rtd, (Convenor ZFI Kashmir chapter) Shahnawaz Bukhari, KAS, (Coordinator ICP Kashmir) Hakim Mohammad Ilyas (General Secretary Ehsaas International) Arshid Rasool (Chief Editor JKNS daily Gadyal) Bilal Ahmad ZFI, Dr Iqbal Qureshi, IUST and other prominent personalities of Kashmir.
A detailed presentation was given Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood wherein he explained the successful working model of different ZFI chapters across country. He expressed his concern to start competitive exams coaching in Kashmir for Staff Selection Commission and all provincial service commissions in various districts of Kashmir wherein online/offline coaching to be started in hybrid mode.
During discussion Kifayat Hussain Razvi and Shahnawaz Bukhari expressed their views and appraised about residential coaching and guidance provided to the aspirants in Kashmir. Mr. Bukhari suggested recruiting 10 qualified and experienced faculty members who are knowledgeable about competitive exams and can effectively teach the subjects and are capable of providing guidance and support to students who can offer their services in the units at district level.
In order to operationalise the ZFI units, Hakim Mohammad Ilyas from Ehsaas Trust International (local partner ZFI) offered to utilise the computer centres/smart classrooms established by Ehsaas International in remote area of Kashmir as online/offline hybrid mode centres for ZFI coaching progam.
Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood said that infrastructure, like classrooms, audiovisual equipment, and a library and a good supply of study materials, including books, study guides, and online resources will help to establish an online presence through a website and social media platforms to reach a wider audience, offering online classes or recorded lectures for students who prefer remote learning. He also suggested to provide additional support services, such as doubt-solving sessions, mock exams, counselling, to help students excel in their preparations.
