KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 06: A day- long seminar on the theme, ‘Medicinal Plants & their Applications’ was held today in Government Boys Higher Secondary School(GBHSS) Kishtwar in collaboration with J & K Science Technology & Innovation Council, Department of Science & Technology Udhampur.

The seminar was co-ordinated by Shruti Khanna, District Co- Ordinator, J&K Science and Technology, Udhampur. The programme was compared by Pardeep Koul, Chemistry Lecturer and the Nodal Officer of the programme.

Qazi Masood, Dy Chief Education Officer was the Chief Guest, while Dr Monika Sharma was the guest speaker.

The seminar began with a welcome address by the School management. A number of students participated in the seminar and delivered impressive speeches amidst clapping by hundreds of students and the faculty of teaching and non- teaching staff.

Nikhil Shan, Vishal Surmal and Devansh Rathore were adjudged Ist, 2nd and 3rd by the jury of judges comprising Nazia Sofi, Sr Lecturer Botany, Majid Mushtaq Kichloo , Senior Lecturer Botany and Meenakshi Sharma. They were given prizes along with consolation prizes to the rest of the participants.

Guest Speaker, Dr. Monika Sharma delivered a very knowledgeable speech much to the likes of all present in the programme.

Chief Guest, Qazi Masood had a detailed interaction with the students. The Guest speaker, jury of judges and the Chief Guest were felicitated by the School administration headed by Javed Ahmed Kichloo, Principal and Zuber Ahmed Matoo, officiating Principal. Entire staff was part of the audience.
