KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 01: In alignment with the vision of the the Prime Minister, massive cleanliness drives and Swachhta Rallies themed “Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath,” witnessed spirited participation across District Kishtwar today.

The initiative aimed at instilling the values of community service and nation-building.A one-hour Shramadaan was conducted from 10 AM to 11 AM, emphasizing a collective effort to contribute significantly to the nation’s cleanliness.

The District Administration under the guidance of Sham Lal-JKAS, In Charge Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar echoing the national spirit for a ‘Garbage Free India,’ orchestrated Swachhta Rallies and pledges besides Cleanliness drives in all the 236 panchayats across the district, emphasizing environmentally responsible disposal.

Leading from front under the Swachh Bharat,the senior officers such as DC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ADC Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar, and ACR Varunjeet Singh Charak,Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal besides district Officers actively participated in the activities at district headquarter.

A Swachhta Rally, featuring officers, officials, and staff of DC office, alongside officers from CRPF 52nd Battalion and the jawans besides gathering of 500 plus citizens marched from DC office to Historical Chowgan Ground Kishtwar under the leadership of I/C, DC Kishtwar accompanied by ADC, ACR, Joint Director Planning, DPO, DIO, STO, DSWO, CMO, CEO besides other district officers.

Simultaneously, a mega Cleanliness drive unfolded across district offices residing inside the DC Office Complex Kishtwar and also at tehsil headquarters, blocks, and panchayats, engaging government and municipal offices.

The commitment to cleanliness was firmly underscored with a Swachhta Pledge administered to officers and officials at the Mini Secretariat DC Office Complex Kishtwar.

Similar initiatives echoed through government offices and educational institutions, with sectoral officers, field functionaries, PRIs, civil society members, and SHGs of NRLM actively participating.

In the Town Kishtwar, Municipal Council Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Police Department, organized a Cleanliness drive and a “Swachhta Rally” from General Bus Stand to Girls Higher Secondary School Kishtwar, witnessing active involvement from school students, the general public, and civil society.

Under the “Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyaan” campaign, mega cleanliness drives also unfolded at Kiru, Kwar, and Pakkal Dul HEP project sites involves Head of Projects, staff and workers of these HydroElectric Power Projects, NHPC and CVPPL.

Additionally, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Chatroo organized a Cleanliness Drive at Govt Gujjar & Bakerwal Boys Hostel Chatroo, District Kishtwar.

BDC Chairperson, BDO Dachhan, and Army jawan of 17 RR collaborated in a drive to collect plastic, advancing efforts to make Block Dachhan plastic-free.

All blocks and panchayats witnessed Plastic Waste Collection Drives, reinforcing the message of environmental consciousness and responsible waste management.

The Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign in Kishtwar District witnessed an exemplary level of commitment and enthusiasm, with about 2,000 Shramdaan activities involving more than 60,000 citizens meticulously conducted and recorded through videography and photography.

The RDD Offices, ICDS centres, Educational institutions remained on the forefront to conduct these activities by involving the local PRIs, AWWs , School Students and common masses.

The visual records have been thoughtfully uploaded on the portal for the perusal of the concerned ministry, ensuring comprehensive documentation of the impactful initiatives.

The Departments across the district actively participated in capturing the essence of each event, reflecting the collaborative efforts towards cleanliness and community service. The uploaded content serves as a valuable resource for further analysis and acknowledgment of the impactful strides made during the campaign.

This initiative aligns with the transparency and accountability goals set forth by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, showcasing the dedication of Kishtwar District in contributing to the larger vision of a cleaner and healthier India.
