Sopore, Oct 01 : In a bid to signify a united effort to promote cleanliness and environmental consciousness, a sanitation drive was carried out in Bomai village of Zaingeer in northern Sopore sub-division.

The drive themed “Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” was held aimed at transforming Zaingeer into a garbage-free zone. Besides highlighting the significance of community participation, the drive emphasizes the importance of cleanliness and sustainable waste management.

The campaign was orchestrated under the leadership of Panchayat Assistant Commissioner, Baramulla Mushtaq Ahmed Raja who was warmly welcomed in the zone, and was wholeheartedly supported by the BDO Zaingeer Nazir Ahmed Nazir and other officials. The event was a display of collaborative success.

The key contributors were, Govt Boys Hr Sec Bomai staff and it’s principal Abdul Ahad Gojree, Principal Eagle English Medium Bomai GM War, Sarpanches, Panches, Civil society members besides officials, employees from the Block Zaingeer and a large number of students across the village.

On the occasion, a pledge was also taken to make Zaingeer a garbage-free zone. Various cultural programmes promoting sanitation were also showcased by the students group.
