SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 27: The School Education Department has undertaken the remarkable “Shanti Yatra” initiative, which has been spreading the message of peace and Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings across all districts of the Jammu division. The journey commenced on 09 September 2023 from Poonch and has since been an inspiring symbol of harmony and unity.

Today, a significant milestone was achieved as the symbol of peace was ceremoniously handed over to District Samba. The Chief Education Officer Kathua, in a heartfelt gesture, passed on the torch of peace to District Samba at Kootah More.

The “Shanti Yatra” has witnessed the enthusiastic participation of educational leaders, including Principals, Zonal Education Officers, and dedicated staff and students. They congregated at the District Administrative Complex Samba, where the journey was officially flagged-in by the District Development Commissioner of Samba, Abhishek Sharma.

Under the banner of “Shanti Chin,” the students, along with Chief Education Officer Samba, District I/C Cultural Cell, Z.I.C.C, and numerous staff members, embarked on their journey towards Vijaypur. Their mission is to continue the “Shanti Yatra” and disseminate the profound wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi to the various institutes within the district of Samba.
