DEO Ramban chairs meeting of political representatives on rationalization of polling stations

RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 27: District Election Officer, Ramban Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting with concerned officers and representatives of different political parties regarding rationalization of polling stations, creation of new polling stations and change of location of existing polling stations.

The meeting was attended by the President Municipal Council, Ramban, Sunita Sumbria, ADC, Harbans Sharma, Dy. DEO Lal Chand, Tehsildar (AERO) Rafiq Ahmed and other representatives of various political parties.

During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on the various issues including proposals submitted by the AEROs in consultation with various political parties with regard to creation of new polling stations and change of location of existing polling stations.

The Deputy Commissioner also advised the members of political parties to share a list of their authorized agents with the election departments, besides sensitizing the people, especially youth, about the forthcoming voter registration process that would be started from October w. r. t. 01.01.2024 as the qualifying date.

Appreciating the concern for good work, the representatives also discussed criteria for creation of more new polling stations and shifting of polling stations for the convenience of voters.
