Central Bureau of Communication to enhance its activities during Navratra Festival Katra

Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Regional Office, Jammu (J&K and Ladakh) through its Field Office, Udhampur has decided to enhance its participation and activities during the upcoming annual Navratra Festival to be held at Katra from 15th to 23rd October, 2023.

A review meeting was convened by the Chairman of the organizing committee, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Shri Ramesh Kumar at Katra.

Joint Director, CBC Shri Ghulam Abbas informed that the bureau will organize a multi-media exhibition in the form of big and medium Integrate Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP). He informed that the exhibition will be put up for all the 9-day on different themes like 9 Years of Governance, Mission LiFE, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, among other schemes and initiatives.

Shri Abbas told that CBC will present devotional cultural programmes besides theme based various performances on the Centrally Sponsored schemes. To strengthen the cultural activities during festival the department has roped in cultural troupes from almost more than nine regions of CBC throughout the country that include Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Jaipur, Imphal, Pune, Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir, he added.

Shri Abbas said that the CBC’s platform at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Katra will be available for many other departments, schools and organizations to organize various competitions and display their talent. It was also informed that the troupes affiliated with CBC will participate in Prabhat Pheri and Shobha Yatra depicting and endorsing the ethos of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
