Tenure of Advisor to PM, others extended

JAMMU, Sept 26: The Appointment Committee of the Union Cabinet today granted its approval for the extension of the tenure of key Government officials, including the Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As per an order issued in this context, the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has extended the tenure of Amit Khare, Advisor to Prime Minister, with the rank and scale of Secretary to the Government of India on a contract basis, in accordance with the usual terms and conditions applicable to re-employed officers of the Secretary level in the Government of India.

The extension goes beyond October 12, 2023, and will remain in effect until either the term of the Prime Minister concludes or further orders are issued, whichever comes first.

Additionally, the Central deputation tenure of Ashish Srivastava, who serves as Adviser at the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been extended. This extension is effective until October 3, 2025, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first.

Furthermore, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of Dr Rajesh S Gokhale’s tenure as Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology. This extension is for a duration of two years, starting from November 1, 2023, or until further orders are issued, depending on which event occurs earlier.
