The family, consisting of Atiq-ul-Rahman along with five ladies and five small children, totaling eleven individuals, chose the Upper Rajwar Wader Bala route towards Handwara for their return journey.

Unfortunately, they lost their way in the dense forests, and their vehicle became stuck, rendering them unable to proceed.

Realizing the urgency of the situation, they reached out to Dial 112 for immediate assistance.

Responding promptly, Dial 112 relayed the distress call to the relevant police units operating in the area. Incharge Police Post Zachaldara, along with a police team and Army personnel from 21RR, launched a rescue operation. After rigorous efforts, the joint team successfully located and rescued the stranded family, thereby saving the lives of all eleven individuals.

The family was then taken to Police Post Zachaldara for overnight stay, where they were provided with refreshments.

Additionally, a JCB arranged by the police towed their stranded vehicle from the location, and the joint team escorted them back to the main road to continue their journey home.

The rescued family expressed their gratitude towards the police for their timely help and commended the rapid response of Dial 112. (KS)
