This demand was raised by former minister and General Secretary DPAP RS Chib here while addressing a public meeting organised by Shahrukh Bhatti here.

For years now, Jammu and Kashmir has been under Governor or LG rule and the issues of concern to common people are growing. The only solution in the given scenario is to elect peoples representatives to redress all grievances, said Chib.

Stressing party workers to be in election mode and reach out to every nook and corner, Chib assured that anti-people laws or orders would be revoked once DPAP comes to power in J&K.

Lambasting UT administration for ignoring places of pristine beauty in Chenab Valley, former minister and Provincial President Jugal Kishore Sharma said areas like Batote, Patnitop, Sanasar and adjoining tourist spots have been completely left out of the ambit of tourism map of J&K for reasons known to bureaucrats running the affairs of the administration.

The government should seriously consider development of tourist spots which have been totally cut off due to construction of Nashiri Tunnel since everyone passes through it while attractive spots and the business there continues to suffer, said Sharma.

Speaking on the occasion, Zonal General Secretary Shahrukh Bhatti reminded people about Chairman DPAP Ghulam Nabi Azads tenure as Chief Minister who was instrumental in according Tehsil status to Batote.

The way Batote was given Tehsil status is a clear indicator of Ghulam Nabi Azads vision of development devoid of any bias, said Bhatti, who also called upon youth to spread DPAPs agenda of development across the Chenab Valley.

Provincial General Secretary Vishal Chopra enumerated a multitude of works undertaken and completed on a fast track basis during Ghulam Nabi Azads tenure as CM.

Those who spoke on the occasion include, Dharam Chand, District President, Arif Salaria, District General Secy, Farooq Chaudhary, Provincial Gen Secy, Thakur Jagdish Chand, Sarpanch, Ata Mohd Zargar, Block President, Mohd Shafi, Block President, Mrs Narinder Kour, Shashi Sharma District Prez Mahila Wing.

Prominent among those present include, Jai Ram Bhagat, Mohd Hussain, Mohd Issac, Sheikh Shabir, Surjit Lal, Irshad Iqbal, Farooq Lone, Issac Magrey, Tariq Rather, Bodh Raj Sharma, Jamil Bhat, Imran Magrey, Nandlal, Parveen Akhter, Govind Singh, Hansraj, Dharshan Singh.

The public meeting also saw people from all sections of society joining DPAP here. Those who joined the party include, Chet Ram, Jamil Bhat, Masqoor Ahmed, Shiv Lal, Mohd Shafi, Shadi Lal, Irshad Magrey, Abdul Wahid, Ishar Singh and Ghulam Din.
