Fire safety awareness program held at NCC camp Nagrota

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23: A Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-J2) is being held at NCC Camping grounds Nagrota from 20th September to 29th September. As many as 500 NCC cadets from Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu Districts are participating in the Camp.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services was requested to deliver a lecture on Firefighting and conduct a demonstration on Firefighting.

Accordingly, Directions were passed by Alok Kumar ADGP Director Fire and Emergency to Jammu Command and subsequently Deputy Director RK Raina deputed DFO Sub Command city for delivering the lecture and demonstration.

The Demo was conducted under the supervision of Divisional Fire Officer Sub command city lecture cum demo was delivered by Kiran Ji Raina Incharge FES Station City Jammu alongwith team. The demo cum lecture was attended by various officers and staff of NCC Nagrota.

It may be recalled that Director Fire and Emergency Services J&K Alok Kumar has initiated an awareness campaign regarding fire safety and Wednesday has been dedicated to organize awareness programmes in schools.

Till date nearly 1.35 lac students excluding teaching staff have witnessed these fire safety awareness programmes.

The motive behind this awareness campaign is to create fire responders in each home. Har Ghar Firefighter is the main motive behind this campaign launched by Alok Kumar, Director FES.

The awareness drive has been witnessing grand success and the number of Fire incidents and loss percentage has shown a decrease. The awareness drive has attracted other Govt and business establishments of Jammu and Kashmir UT and they are approaching the department for conducting such programs at their respective establishments for Fire Safety.
