ADC Poonch flags off Millet Walkathon Rally

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 22: Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik today flagged off Millet Walkathon Rally from the DC office which culminated at the Sports Stadium Poonch.

The event aimed to promote the consumption of millets for healthy life and raise awareness about the benefits of the same.

Students from Degree College and Higher Secondary Poonch, along with esteemed professors and lecturers from various educational institutions participated in the rally.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi, SDM Mendhar, Jahangir Khan, Food officer, and several other officials were present.

Upon reaching the Sports Stadium, participants engaged in invigorating yoga activities conducted by a professional yoga instructor.

Following the yoga session, Professor Fateh Mohammad Abbasi delivered a captivating lecture on the numerous advantages of incorporating millets into one’s diet.

Professor Abbasi highlighted the nutritional value, dietary fiber content, and potential health benefits associated with millets.

Additional Deputy Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the active participation of students, professors, and officials in the Rally of Millet Walkathon. He emphasized the significance of promoting healthier food choices and encouraging physical activities for the overall well-being of the community.
