Election training held for POs at Ramban

RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 19: District Election Department, Ramban today conducted a day-long training programme for Presiding Officers (POs) including P1 and P2 in view of upcoming Municipal Elections at Conference hall, Maitra, Ramban.

Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand presided over the training session which was conducted by the State Level Master Trainer (SLMT).

State Level Master Trainer, General Manager, DIC, Ravinder Anand, District Level Master Trainer, ZEO, Firdous Ahmad and other trainers and officials of Election department imparted training to the participants.

The training was attended by POs and other concerned election officials.

The POs were informed about their role and responsibilities, election management, EVM management, conduct of polls, and provisions of the model code of conduct imposed after notification of Elections. A question answer session was also held to clear the doubts of the participants about the procedures and rules for the conduct of free, fair, and transparent Elections in the district.

Emphasizing on the importance of MC election to strengthen democracy at grassroot level, the Dy. DEO stressed that Presiding Officers need to prepare themselves fully for the conduct of free, fair and transparent Municipal elections.
