DC Kupwara reviews LaQshya, NQAS Parameters under ADP

KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of the Medical Officers to review the progress of LaQshya and NQAS parameters under Health sector of Aspirational District Programme (ADP) at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here.

At the outset, the CMO Kupwara gave a detailed PowerPoint Presentation and highlighted the targets/achievements under LaQshya (Labour Room Quality Improvement initiative) and NQAS (National Quality Assurance Standards) parameters.

The DC took a detailed review of all parameters including labour room and maternity OT facilities under LaQshya for CHC Kupwara and CHC Sogam.

The DC directed concerned BMOs to rectify the gaps within a week’s time. She directed internal assessors to revisit CHC Kupwara and CHC Sogam.

She also reviewed facilities of NQAS in different Sub centers, PHCs and CHC of the district including SC Shaloora, SC Potushai, SC Gund-Chogal, SC Kachloo, SC Shahlal, SC Chandigam, PHC Kandi, PHC Trehgam and CHC Kupwara.

The DC directed concerned BMOs and Medical officers to work out the gaps under NQAS and complete them so that parameters are improved under the Aspirational District Programme.

Ayushi stressed on BMOs to take keen interest in LaQshya and NQAS as main aim of these programmes is to reduce preventable maternal and newborn mortality, morbidity, and stillbirths associated with the care around delivery in the labour Room and maternity operation theatre and ensure respectful maternity care and improve the quality of healthcare in public Health facilities.

Meeting was attended by JD Planning Kupwara, CMO Kupwara, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Handwara, Medical Superintendent SDH Kupwara, all BMOs and other concerned officers.
