The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding the performance of banks during the 1st Quarter of Financial Year 2023-24. Dr. Devansh Yadav emphasized the importance of identifying eligible beneficiaries and ensuring the smooth flow of credit to them through the convergence of assistance from government-sponsored schemes and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). He stressed the need to increase credit flow in the agriculture sector.

The overall achievement under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for 1st Quarter of 2023-24 stood at a satisfactory 27.8%

However, Deputy Commissioner advised bankers and line departments to enhance credit flow under the priority sector, with special attention to KCC, Education and Women’s Development. He further encouraged banks to step up their efforts and improve their performance in the upcoming Quarters of year, 2023-24.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of capital formation in the agriculture sector for long-term growth, along with the need to conduct financial literacy camps in the Aspirational Blocks of Kishtwar district.

The meeting was attended by distinguished officials including ADDC, Sham Lal; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; Lead District Manager, Pankaj Bhadani; DDM NABARD; heads of line departments; district heads of various banks, and other agency heads.
