Kupwara, Sep 14 , The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan (IAS), on Thursday chaired a meeting of officers at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex here to review the preparations for the 2nd phase of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign, featuring the Amrit Kalash Yatras.

It was told in the meeting that in Rural areas of Kupwara district the four-tier approach is spanning from villages, Blocks, State Capital to National Capital and in Urban areas it is spanning from Wards, Municipal Councils, State Capital to National Capital, aims to instill a sense of national pride and unity among citizens.
The Deputy Commissioner while emphasizing on the significance of collecting soil and rice during Amrit Kalash Yatras said that “It is a way to connect people to India’s future. She said that the idea behind this programme is that every individual, family, citizen, and child should connect emotionally with the idea of creation of the “great India”.
While elaborating on timeline and spread of activities, DC said that upto Sep 30th, Soil (Mitti) and rice will be collected from houses in every village in a festive environment, following it up from October 1st to Oct 13th at the block and later from October 22nd to Oct 27th at state level, and finally from October 28th to Oct 30th , these pots of soil and rice will reach New Delhi, the capital of the country.

Dc called upon all Officers to collaborate and coordinate closely to ensure the campaign’s resounding success and ensure active involvement in various events.

A pivotal aspect highlighted during the meeting was the creation of a festive atmosphere at the block-level program, where soil from various villages will be ceremonially combined in a single Amrit Kalash. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the need to pay homage to martyrs at the block level and directed the concerned officers to facilitate this process.

The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to organize cultural programs at the block level, designed to honor the brave hearts. She stressed that similar programs will also be conducted in Municipal Wards and councils of Kupwara district.

The Deputy Commissioner urged officers to work diligently, and in close coordination with a special focus on encouraging women’s participation and involving Anganwadi workers, ASHAs and youth volunteers and other field functionaries.
Ayushi Sudan directed Officers to ensure creation of festive environment including playing Dholaks, Nagadas and other musical instruments, taking Panch Pran pledges, videography, photography of events , timely reporting and uploaded the events .

The Deputy Commisioner directed ADC Kupwara and ACD Kupwara to chart out a schedule for village wise events.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, ADC Handwara, ACD Kupwara, ACR Kupwara, SDM Lolab, SDM Karnah, CEO Kupwara, CMO Kupwara, BDOs, Tehsildars, CDPOs, EO Municipal council Kupwara and other officers.
