The civil society of District Budgam including Shia & Sunni Association Ichgam, Pandith Association Ichgam welcomes the decision of High Court J & K and U.T administration’s decision for establishing New District Court Complex Budgam at Ichgam Budgam.
The civil society members in a joint statement said that people of District Budgam were facing Problems daily due to the lack of space in the old court complex at Budgam. The court complex was lacking basic immunities like laboratory, car parking, facilities for disabled persons and much more. The Honble High of J & K and Ladakh might have taken this decision after taking into consideration all aspects, the people of District Budgam in general and civil society in particular welcomes this Historical decision of shifting court complex from a crowded area to open area near Ring Road Ichgam Budgam.
The government of J & K has already identified state land measuring 117 Kanals and 19 Marlas for the construction of new District Court Complex Budgam at Ichgam Budgam, which has been identified by both Judiciary and Revenue Department. It has been brought in the notice of the Hon’ble High Court and Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs who have requested for transfer of the said land for construction of New District Court Complex, Budgam, however till date the land transfer papers have not been submitted by the Deputy Commissioner Budgam and no significant progress has been made in this regard, the civil requests the Lt. Governor for intervening in the matter and direct the District Administration for issuance of requisite papers at an earliest, so that construction work in started soon.
