MAJ GEN RK SACHDEVA, ADG NCC DIRECTORATE JAMMU, KASHMIR AND LADAKH, VISITS NAVAL PRE NAU SAINIK CAMP AT MANASBAL

Srinagar, 09 Sep 2023. Maj Gen RK Sachdeva, the Additional Director General (ADG) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, conducted an official visit to the serene Manasbal Lake in Ganderbal district. The purpose of his visit was to assess the preparations and activities of cadets participating in the Pre Nau Sainik Camp organized by the 1 J&K Naval Unit for selected cadets from the JK&L Directorate. These cadets are gearing up for the All India Nau Sainik Camp scheduled to take place from 14th to 24th October at INS Shivaji, Lonavala.

Upon his arrival, Maj Gen RK Sachdeva was warmly received by Capt Kapil Sharma, CO 1J&K Naval Unit, and honored with an impressive guard of honor by the dedicated cadets. Subsequently, he received a comprehensive briefing on the wide range of activities being conducted at the camp. The cadets are undergoing training in various activities crucial for the AINSC camp, including whaler boat pulling, enterprise class sailing, semaphore communication, and rigging. The cadets demonstrated their skills and high level of readiness through practical demonstrations.

The Naval Pre Nau Sainik Camp at Manasbal Lake is hosting a total of 100 cadets, comprising 60 boys and 40 girls from both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. This camp offers a unique platform for cadets to receive specialized training in various Naval disciplines, fostering an environment of unity, harmony, and camaraderie among the participants.

Following his address and motivational speech to the cadets, the ADG presented commendation certificates to selected NCC officials. This recognition included Lieutenant Prof Khursheed Parray from SP College Srinagar, Petty Officer Jacky Singh, and Cadet Reya Sharma from GCW GANDHINAGAR.

Maj Gen RK Sachdeva also paid a visit to the land allocated by the Gandharbal administration for the upcoming NCC training academy. Once transferred, this land will be transformed into state-of-the-art infrastructure for NCC cadets of NCC Group Srinagar.

Maj Gen RK Sachdeva expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the cadets and commended the efforts of the Srinagar Group in nurturing the future leaders of our nation. He emphasized the paramount importance of such training camps in nurturing the youth, equipping them with valuable life skills, leadership qualities, and a profound sense of patriotism.
