PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 9: A meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Basharat Qayoom to discuss the beautification of Towns of District Pulwama .

Deputy Commissioner while chairing the meeting emphasised on beautification of towns in a time bound manner and focussed on completion of works .

Towns should not only look clean but an aesthetic overhaul of towns should be done ,DC added and all the departments like R&B,KPDCL,JJM, Municipalities should work in tandem to achieve this .

DC directed officers to submit action plan with estimates so that works are approved and executed without any further delay.

Deputy Commissioner while addressing the officers stressed on Street lightning and to fill any gaps if there and to ensure that facelifting of the towns should be done by way of art and craft by local artisans .Road signages and markings should be developed all along the towns to add to the overall aesthetics of Towns, DC added.

Beautification of towns will not only add to the aesthetic look but things like colour codings, footpaths, beautification of waterbodies will ensure a sense of pride among the locals and this will further involve them to add to the beauty of towns through various new initiatives.
