On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Minhas, a number of awareness programmes were held in different areas of the district as a part of Digital Week Celebrations aimed at enhancing digital literacy among the Stakeholders. Mega Digital Week celebration programmes were held at Sub Division Bani under the supervision of SDM, Satish Sharma.

On the occasion, senior officers of different departments sensitized the people about On-Line services being provided by their respective departments as they gave demonstrations and hands-on training.

The departments provided on spot e-services being offered by them, including Aadhaar enrollment, Golden Cards, services of Revenue department, Horticulture, Agriculture, Holistic Agriculture Development Schemes, RDD schemes besides other services that can be availed online by the public.

Speaking about the weeklong “Digital Week-2023”, the SDM Bani said that the initiative has been launched to provide easy access to Government schemes and services and enhance digital literacy among the people, besides adapting technological interventions to ensure citizens centric services in an efficient, prompt and effective manner. The digital week will align with the anti-corruption campaign, showcasing the role of online services in combating corruption.

Measures will be taken against individuals filing frivolous complaints to send a clear message against misuse of anti-corruption measures. Google Form links will be disseminated through social media and other platforms to encourage public feedback.

A massive publicity campaign involving citizens, youth clubs, PRI’s, and media will ensure door-to-door information dissemination on the anti-corruption drive.

The Digital week camps were also held in other parts of the district where the line departments showcased their online schemes to the people and enrolled the beneficiaries.
