The SDLC, under the leadership of SDM Jammu South, Atul Dutt Sharma, was convened on August 2, 2023, to discuss and finalise the delineation and demarcation exercise.

The primary focus of the SDLC’s efforts has been the preparation of Geo-referenced Maps of Revenue Villages using DGPS technology, digitisation of village maps and conducting quality checks to ensure accuracy.

The SDLC used advanced technology to create maps of revenue villages and a Digital Elevation Model with sub-meter accuracy. They also created flood risk maps for different return periods (25 years, 50 years and 100 years).

Furthermore, the SDLC superimposed the final delineated water bodies onto geo-referenced Revenue Maps, ensuring precision and alignment with the geographical data.

Based on the extensive studies and collaborations, the SDLC has made several observations and recommendations for the village Jallo Chak area. Notable findings include the identification of water bodies and land suitable for retention or alienation.

The Deputy Commissioner discussed the implementation and final report of the committee. He impressed upon the officers to resolve technicalities and submit its final report at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Divisional Forest Officer, representatives of Jammu Municipal Corporation (DC North Jammu), Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED), ACD Jammu and SE Hydraulic Circle.
