RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 04: District Development Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Export Promotion Committee (DLEPC) here in his office Chamber to discuss the finalization of the District Export Promotion Plan.

CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal; GM, DIC, Ravinder Anand; Chief Agriculture Officer, Ram Gopal; Chief Horticulture Officer, Anil Gorkha; representative of JKTPO Jammu, and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The meeting commenced with a power point presentation of the draft Export promotion plan presented by the official of JKTPO, Jammu.

The meeting discussed the action plan to increase the production and quality of the export oriented products in the District like Honey, Walnut and Anardana (Dry pomegranate).

The meeting was informed that two Common Facilitation Centers for Honey have already been sanctioned for the district. The chair directed to include quince fruit products in the export plan.

He asked the stakeholder departments to organize workshops and awareness programmes to encourage the famers and fruit growers to establish the processing units for Anardana, Honey and Walnut in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed appraisal about the measures taken to boost the exports of different products being produced in the District. A comprehensive discussion on the subject was held wherein various issues pertaining to the finalization of the District Export Action Plan were discussed.

The DC also took a thorough assessment of the export activities being carried out under different sectors in the District.
