Police seizes 8 vehicles, arrests 7 persons in Baramulla

September 03: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 8 vehicles and arrested 7 persons in Baramulla.

Police parties under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Kunzer & SHO PS Tangmarg seized 6 vehicles (5 tippers & 1 tractor) and arrested 5 drivers identified as Aijaz Ahmad Shah son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Kunzer Baramulla, Rayees Ahmad Shah son of Ab Majeed resident of Batpora Kunzer, Riaz Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad Chopan son of Nazir Ahmad, both residents of Ganiwani Kunzer & Nisar Ahmad Malik son Bashir Ahmad resident of Pariswani Kunzer for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Karhama Kunzer and Shrai Tangmarg.

Moreover, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan assisted by IC PP Mirgund, seized 02 vehicles (1 tipper & 1 tractor) and arrested their drivers at Baliharan Pattan. They have been identified as Shabir Hussain Lone son of Gh Nabi Lone resident of Patlibagh & Aijaz Ahmad War son of Ali Mohammad resident of Nowlari.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been taken up.

Persons found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
