EX-SERVICEMEN OUTREACH PROGRAMME AT CHHAMKOT TANGDHAR

Karnah Kupwara: The Ex-servicemen outreach programme was conducted under the aegis of Shakti Vijay Brigade at Chhamkot on 3rd September 2023. The event was organised with an aim to provide comprehensive support and assistance to the Veterans and to resolve matters related to pension anomalies, ECHS, Canteen Card and provide information on benefits from central and state government departments by bringing all stakeholders to one platform for the veterans of the Karnah Valley. A total number of 154 ESM, 06 Veer Naris, 15 Widows and 24 Dependents attended the said event. Representatives of Records JAK LI, DPDO Srinagar, Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Kupwara and Col Veteran, HQ 31 Sub Area formed part of the said event. The president of the ESM Cell, Subedar Abdul Quyoom Mir, informed the gathering about the various benefits and emoluments for Veterans of Karnah Valley.

The Chief Guest, Commander, Shakti Vijay Brigade addressed all the ESM present at the event and appreciated their courage, dedication and sacrifice for the nation. He emphasised the need for co-operation amongst the civilians and security forces and advised them to shoulder their responsibility of guiding the locals towards the path of prosperity and success. The ESM expressed their sincere gratitude for this interactive platform where they could highlight their problems and grievances freely and where they were educated about the on-going issues.

The event culminated with group photograph and interactive session with DPDO, Srinagar, and Pension Cell of JAK LI Records Zila Sainik welfare Office. The large attendance of ESM demonstrated the existing bond between the Indian Army and
ESM, and the Indian Army’s resolve to stand by the Veer Naris, widows of exservicemen and the entire ex-servicemen fraternity also generated an assurance that grievances of ESMs would be addressed in a speedy manner.
