Srinagar Court Sentences Person for One-Year Jail in Cheque Bounce Case:Besides the double amount of the cheque and compensation to the complainant

Hon’ble Court of Judge Small Causes, Srinagar, Ms. Tabasum convicted an accused in the cheque bounce Case and was sentenced to one year in jail besides the double amount of the cheque and compensation to the complainant.

Sources told News Agency that a Delhi-based fruit company had filed a case in the Court against the accused person who had served a Rs. 8,51,000 cheque to the former, which was bounced. Later, the hearings in the case took place and a verdict was pronounced by Judge Ms.Tabasum in which the accused was convicted.

It was said that the convicted person was sentenced one-year jail term and was fined the double amount of the bounced cheque i.e., Rs. 17,00,000. Also, the compensation of Rs. 3,00,000 was said to be given to the complainant for his expenses during the litigation, he added.
