BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 01: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad alongwith Director Rural Development Department (RDD), Shabir Ahmad today undertook a comprehensive review of the ongoing developmental projects in the district under RDD Sector.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, Executive Engineer REW, ACP, BDOs besides other concerned officers from district administration.

The review examined the status of infrastructure projects to ensure that they are progressing as planned. The officers also took stock of various rural employment schemes implemented in the district, such as MGNREGA, with a focus on providing livelihood opportunities to the rural population.

On the occasion, ACD Bandipora informed the meeting that 754 works have been taken up during the final year 2023-2024, among which 690 works of previous year stand complete besides 21 works in the current year also stand completed.

The meeting was further informed that the department was given a target of 4226 PMAY household target in the district. The ACD informed that 3700 beneficiaries were identified for the first Installment, however for the second and third installments, 1250 and 936 beneficiaries were identified respectively.

He further said that 144 Amrit Sarovar sites were identified for which 106 sites stand completed so far.

DC on the occasion, informed that several projects and works under RDD have been taken up in the district. He said that work on different projects has already been completed. He directed the concerned authorities to complete the leftover projects in a time bound manner.

The Director RDD said that the department is committed to resolving any bottlenecks hindering the progress of development projects in the district. He reiterated the dedication of the government to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Bandipora and creating an enabling environment for holistic development.
