GDC Ajas organises Mega “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” event under NAPDDR

BANDIPORA, AUGUST 31: The Government Degree College (GDC) Ajas today organized a mega “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” event under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) in collaboration with the District Administration Bandipora, District Social Welfare Office Bandipora and District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC), Bandipora.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a drug-free society witnessed a remarkable turnout of participants, including students, staff members etc.

The event was presided over by Principal of GDC Ajas, Prof. (Dr.) Parveen Kousar.

A pivotal highlight of the event was the presentation delivered by a team of Drug De-Addiction experts from the District Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC), Bandipora.

The ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ event proved to be an impactful platform for participants to gain valuable insights into the complexities of substance abuse and its detrimental impact on individuals, families, and society as a whole.

The experts’ presentations shed light on the available avenues for seeking help and guidance for those struggling with addiction, emphasizing the importance of support networks and professional intervention.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, address queries, and exchange ideas related to drug de-addiction and the path towards a healthier lifestyle. The event fostered a sense of community involvement and a shared commitment to creating a society free from the clutches of substance abuse.

Following the programme, a spirited anti-drug rally was organized within the college campus with a remarkable turnout of participants, including students, staff members, and team of Drug De-Addiction experts. The rally aimed to create a visible and impactful demonstration of unity against drug abuse.

The participants marched through the campus carrying placards and banners with powerful slogans and chants. Some of the notable slogans included: “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life!”, “Choose Freedom, Not Drugs!”, “Healthy Mind, Drug-Free Life!” These slogans encapsulated the spirit of the rally and effectively conveyed the message of the event to onlookers and passers-by.

The event was effectively moderated by Dr. Ashaq Hussain Parray, the Convener of the Seminar and Debates Committee.
