Pensioners deserve a dignified life: PAG
The Principal Accounts General (PAG) J&K, Dr. Abshik Gupta Monday presided over a special Pension Adalat at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
The Adalat was held to address grievances faced by pensioners and family pensioners, while fostering awareness among pension sanctioning authorities and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) regarding their responsibilities.
The Pension Adalat was attended by Deputy AG, Sudhakar Pinglay; District Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; District Treasury Officer Rafiq Ahmad Shah, ACR Bandipora besides retired government employees, family pension beneficiaries and representatives from various pension sanctioning authorities and DDOs.
During the programme, the pensioners were given the opportunity to express their concerns, seek resolutions for pending issues and receive information about their rights and entitlements.
On the occasion, Dr. Gupta stressed on the importance of a hassle free and timely pension disbursal process, recognizing that pensioners deserve a comfortable and dignified life after their years of dedicated service to the nation. He said, conducting the Pension Adalat, bridges the gap between pensioners and administrative processes, thereby ensuring the rightful benefits reach the pensioners and their dependents.
During the programme, Dr Gupta said that the government is committed to enhance the pension system across the Nation. While addressing to pension sanctioning authorities and DDOs, he laid stress on accuracy and transparency in pension related matters
The DTO Bandipora said that a series of workshops and training sessions shall be announced for pension sanctioning authorities and DDOs to enhance their understanding of pension related regulations and procedures, thereby ensuring smoother disbursement processes.
Meanwhile, it was given out that, to improve the pension system, the office of PAG shall conduct similar Pension Adalats across other districts to provide a platform for pensioners from all corners of the UT Jammu and Kashmir to raise their concerns and receive timely resolutions.
