A speech competition was organised by state Taxes department as a part of celebrations of “Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav” under the theme “Mere Matti Mera Desh” under the guidance of Commissioner State Taxes, Dr. Rashmi Singh (IAS), which centered around the theme of “Sustainable Development.
The Speech Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various Government schools of the Valley. Besides Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir, Dr. Rashmi Singh (IAS), Additional Commissioner State Taxes Kashmir, Shakeel Maqbool (ICAS), Hakim Mohammad Ilyas General Secretary, Ehsaas International, the programme was attended by DC Enforcement (Central) Parvaiz Ahmad Raina (JKAS), DC Recovery and IT, DC Appeals II, Assistant Commissioners, States Taxes Officers, Inspectors, SI’s, teachers and other officials of the department.
The event witnessed a tough competition among the participants. First 3 positions were given to students of Ehsaas Trust International. First position, Muskaan Javad, Ehsaas community excellence centre Arampora sumbal. 2nd position Javad Ahmad, Ehsaas Community Excellence Centre Nowgam Bandipora. 3rd position Sakeena. Appreciation Certificates were given to other participants of ehsaas International namely Shabroza Hanief UNDER KAFALAT PROJECT Saima Ali, Sumera, Insha Farooq Murtaza Hyder Under kafalat PROJECT, Adil Rasool Under kafalat PROJECT.
Speaking on the occasion, CST, Dr. Rashmi Singh (IAS) said that, “the primary objective of the event is fostering educational initiatives that resonate with the public. Through this event, the State Taxes Department aims to raise awareness about the pressing need for sustainable practices and responsible resource management among students and general public. Interacting with the media, Additional Commissioner State Taxes said that, “the event provided a platform for students to articulate their insights and ideas on how to achieve sustainable development in our communities, in line with the broader goals of environmental conservation and socio-economic progress. He further added that the credit goes to teachers and management of Ehsaas Trust International for enabling enthusiastic participation of students and offering them an opportunity of speaking about the most significant issue of the day. Later, students were awarded mementos and Certificates of appreciation by CST for their participation in the programme.
