GDC Ramgarh organises Slogan Writing Competition on  Drug De-addiction

On the eve of International Youth Day, RRC, Government Degree College Ramgarh organized an Intra-College anti-drug Slogan Writing Competition under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. The competition was organised under the supervision and coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.

Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra said that the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare operates a Drug De-Addiction Programme (DDAP) by providing financial grants for augmenting post abuse treatment facilities. The Ministry also uses print, electronic and social media for creating awareness. Information regarding ill-effects of alcoholism and drug abuse is also disseminated in regional languages. She emphasized that the students must be counseled properly at various levels so that they remain away from the drug menace and threw light upon the dire consequences of drug addiction and emphasized the need for immediate action to combat this prevailing menace.

Prof. Risha Kumari and Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Nodal officers RRC of College, briefed the participants about the proceedings of the competition and motivated students to refrain from substance abuse. They added that all Indians must live up to the spirit of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’.

The first position was bagged by Sarbjeet Singh, Semester 3rd; Shavi, Semester 3rd secured the second position and the third position was clicked by Vimal Singh, Semester 5th.

The competition was adjudged by Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Shamsher Lal & Prof. Risha Kumari.
