3-Day Inter Battalion Basketball Tournament in Srinagar Sector Concludes with Triumph at 35Bn, Humhama

The fervor and sportsmanship of the Inter Battalion Basket Ball tournament-2023, organized by 35 Bn CRPF at Group Centre, Srinagar, reached its pinnacle as the event concluded at the 35Bn, Humhama premises. Over a span of three days, from August 9th to August 11th, 23 spirited teams hailing from Valley-based battalions and Group Centre Srinagar, engaged in thrilling clashes that showcased their dedication and teamwork.
The epic showdown took place during the final match between 35 Bn and 73 Bn, which unfolded this evening. In an exhilarating display of skill and determination, 73 Bn emerged as the triumphant victors, hoisting the championship trophy by overcoming 35 Bn.
The closing ceremony of the event bore witness to the esteemed presence of Sh. Ajay Kumar Yadav, Inspector General of the Srinagar Sector, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the winners, commending their exceptional performance and highlighting the exemplary sportsmanship displayed by all players and participating teams.
Speaking at the event, Sh. Yadav emphasized the pivotal role that sports play in nurturing physical fitness and fostering team spirit among troopers. He underscored the enduring commitment of CRPF personnel to their duties, often spanning extended hours, and noted how sporting activities provide a valuable avenue for stress release while nurturing camaraderie and brotherhood among the ranks.
Sh. Mathew A. John, DIG Srinagar South, Sh. Rajesh Kumar DIG GC Srinagar, Sh. Jaidev Kesri, DIG Srinagar North, along with other esteemed commandants of the participating battalions, added to the grandeur of the occasion by gracing the event.
The tournament not only showcased exceptional sporting prowess but also encapsulated the sense of camaraderie that is a hallmark of such events. “This event has not only showcased the sport’s brilliance but also fostered camaraderie among troopers,” remarked Sh. Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG, CRPF.
