Unexplored Tourist Destinations showcased under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Meeri Maati Mera Desh campaign

The Poonch Development Authority (PDA), in collaboration with Govt. Degree College Mendhar and Surankote, today organized a Trekking Expedition cum Culture Fest at the picturesque Muhna Thill-Jabran in Sanghiote.

This event, held under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Meeri Maati Mera Desh, aimed to promote an unexplored tourist destination and boost tourism in the area.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of Govt. Degree College Mendhar and Surankote, as well as local youths led by the CEO of PDA, Dr. Mohd. Tanveer Khan, the expedition involved a trek from Sanghiote Gali to Muhna Till-Gabran, showcasing the natural beauty and unspoiled landscapes of the region.

CEO PDA, Dr. Mohd. Tanveer Khan expressed his delight at the successful organization of the event and emphasized the importance of exploring and promoting unexplored tourist destinations. He highlighted that such initiatives would contribute significantly to the development of the local tourism industry, ultimately benefiting the region’s economy.

In addition to the trekking expedition, a vibrant Culture Programme was organized, facilitating the promotion and exchange of local culture between various areas of the district. This cultural exchange aimed to foster unity and harmony among different communities and celebrate the rich heritage of the region.

The event also witnessed a cricket match between the local youths and students from the college, fostering friendly competition and promoting sportsmanship among the participants. The match served as a platform for social interaction and community bonding.

Furthermore, as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the gathering paid homage to the nation by singing the Rashtragan, instilling a sense of patriotism and national pride among the attendees.

The festivities concluded with a collective recitation of the “Pledge of Meri Maati Mere Desh,” symbolizing a deep-rooted love and commitment towards the motherland. This celebration exemplified the unity and spirit of the participants in preserving and cherishing the cultural heritage of the region.
