With unwavering enthusiasm mirroring the sentiments of the nation, the “Meri Mati, Mera Desh” campaign under the resounding theme of ‘Mitti Ko Naman, Veero Ka Vandan’ is continuing with patriotic fervor in frontier Kupwara district.

A series of impactful events, in the run of celebration of the campaign were held across the district.

District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan (IAS) Thursday afternoon participated in the dedication of Shilaphalakam (installation of the Plaque/ name plate of Veer), Mainaz Ahmad Mir (JAKLI) who made a supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

The Shilaphalakam (Plaque) was installed at Mir Sar Water body at Chandigam B Panchayat of Block Sogam (Lolab) rejuvenated and beatified under Mission Amrit Sarovar.

DDC participated in singing of national anthem, collection of soil symbolizing homage to the valour and dedication of those who laid down their lives.

DDC along with other participants filled “Amrit Kalas” (earthen vessels) with the collected soil and also participated in plantation drive of Tree saplings, a symbolic tribute to the years of the nation’s freedom.

On the occasion these impactful events infused a sense of patriotism and nationalistic fervor within the hearts of the people. The pledge of “Panch Pran” – the five life forces – was taken by DDC and other participants, embodying their commitment to uphold the nation’s value.

Hilal Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Development,Kupwara; Arshud Ahmad Ganai, BDO Sogam; Mudasir Ahmad Khan, SHO Sogam; PRIs, and Panchayat Secretaries of different Panchayats of Block Sogam and local residents participated in the event.

Meanwhile Tiranga rallies were held at different educational institutions and locations across the district where students and local residents participated in these rallies
